The dilemmas in sourcing reliable welding equipment and consumables for large infrastructure projects motivated the founders to look at high-quality alternative welding equipment and accessories. This led to the forming of RILAND brand in Sri Lanka, resulting in the introduction of RILAND portable welding machines to the Sri Lankan market. RILAND was positioned as its premier flagship brand to arrest the trend toward cheap, unreliable fake products. RILAND has played a pivotal role in popularising MIG/MAG welding machines in Sri Lanka. In this light, RILAND introduced portable and single-phase MIG/MAG welding machines with compatible welding wires at an affordable cost to satisfy the requirements of local entrepreneurs and rural industrialists.
